“I work as a Process Technologist in the Performance and Risk Management Team at AEB. After my Master’s, I started as a Trainee in the Business Development department and was soon promoted to my current role, which aligns perfectly with my technical background.
In my job, I face daily challenges related to waste treatment, but knowing that my work contributes to a cleaner, more sustainable world is highly motivating. Together with my team, I focus on optimizing energy recovery from waste and reducing emissions, directly supporting AEB’s sustainability goals.
I’m proud of how quickly my career has progressed at AEB, going from Trainee to Process Technologist. It’s fulfilling to work in a role I’m passionate about, contributing to a greener future.
As a woman in a male-dominated environment, it can be overwhelming at times, but at AEB, I’ve never felt treated differently. While there’s still progress to be made for women in technical fields, I’m optimistic about the growing number of women entering STEM. My advice to young women is to follow their dreams, regardless of any stereotypes they might encounter.
Looking ahead, I aim to deepen my expertise in flue gas treatment to contribute more effectively to addressing the climate crisis. Maintaining a balance between work and personal life is essential to me, and AEB provides the flexibility I need to do this. I find inspiration in those who work hard to achieve their goals, and I value respect, kindness, and teamwork in my daily work. “
